Theriot saves the day for Tsmoki Minsk
Oderah Chidom had a game high 28 points for Tsmoki Minsk on 12-of-17 shooting from the field. She added six rebounds, two assists and seven forced fouls for a efficiency rating of 28.
Viktoryia Hasper posted 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the court. She also had five dimes and was fouled out after 29:07 minutes of playing time.
Ala Murauskaya registered double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forward dished six assists for a efficiency rating of 25.
Lenka Bartakova shined with 12 points, six rebounds and six assists. She had a efficiency rating of 19.
Rachel Theriot scored nine points after the first half. She totaled 11 points and eight assists.
Ekaterina Gunchenko led Rostov Don with 18 points, seven rebounds and seven steals. Her defense earned a team high efficiency rating of 22.
Irina Miroshnikova also had 18 points on identical 7-of-14 shooting from the field.
Anna Zaitseva chipped in 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Kseniya Kuzmina and Ekaterina Voronina scored 10 points each.
The Panthers missed their next opportunity and fouled Ala Murauskaya. Forward connected both free throws for a 81-79 lead for the Dragons.
Rostov Don was down but not dead. The Panthers grabbed some offensive rebounds in their final attack, while Ekaterina Osipova scored second chance points to tie the game at 81. Overtime!
Chidom had six points in overtime. Theriot contributed with four points, Murauskaya and Kseniya Vabishchevich with three each to seal the deal 97-87.
Gunchenko answered with six points but she remained the lone scorer for Rostov Don.
The Panthers won the battle of rebounds (36-46, offensive rebounds 6-20) and outscored Tsmoki Minsk in second chance points (0-18).
Five Tsmoki players scored in double figures. Oderah Chidom provided a game winning spark from the bench and scored 28 points, while Kseniya Vabishchevich added two three pointers.
All Tsmoki starters registered at least three assists.
The Dragons excelled in ball movement, finishing with 31 assists on 40 field goals, compared to 14-of-32 for the Panthers.
