Our club has signed a contract with American forward Zach Smith (height – 204 cm, 26 years old).
The new “MINSK” player began his basketball career at a high school in Plano (Texas, USA). From 2014 to 2018 he played for the Texas Tech University, after which he put up his candidacy for the draft – in July 2018, the player took part in the NBA Summer League. For 4 seasons at the university, the average statistics of a basketball player per game was: 28 minutes, points – 8.9, rebounds – 5.7, assists – 1.4, blocks – 1.3.
Zach spent the 2018/19 season with the Greensboro Swarm, a branch of the Charlotte Hornets (NBA G-League). In 2018 , he was a member of the NCAA Men 's Division “Elite Eight”, semifinalist of the Big 12 Conference tournament, winner of the 2nd place in the 2018 Big 12 Regular Season.
In the 2019/20 season, Zach played for the VEF Riga club in the Latvian-Estonian League.
In 2020, as part of the “Herd That” team Zach took part in the US open basketball tournament, and in the 2020/21 season he played for the German club S.Oliver Wuerzburg, where he spent a little less than 17 minutes on the court in 7 matches, scoring 5.6 points and making 2.3 rebounds on average per game.
Due to the injury and subsequent recovery in 2022 as part of the Air Raiders team Zach played 2 games, averaging 22 minutes on the court, scoring 4.5 points, making 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks.
The agreement of BC MINSK with the player is designed for a year. We are glad to welcome you, Zack!
