MINSK men's team advances to the semifinals of the championship

On April 19, the second quarterfinal game between the teams “MINSK” and “MINSK” (youth) took place in the sports complex of our basketball club. Having won the second victory in a row with the score 101:41 (19:11, 29:16, 31:9, 22:5), Rostislav Vergun's wards reached the semifinals.

At the start of the game, a more experienced team took the lead, making a breakthrough of 10 points, but Dmitry Koltunov's wards, thanks to accurate hits, managed to reduce the difference to 5 points. The exact “three-point” distinguished themselves in “MINSK” Uladzislau Mikulski, and Vyacheslav Buldyk and Artem Brashko are in the youth team. On the first break, the teams left with a score of 11:19.

In the second quarter, MINSK took a faster pace, which allowed them to increase the advantage in the score to double digits. Uladzislau Maroz and DaQuan Bracey proved to be accurate repeatedly when throwing from an average distance. Meanwhile, frequent fouls from the wards of Rostislav Vergun allowed the players of the youth team to get, among other things, 5 points when shooting from the penalty line. The opponents went to the big break with a score of 27:48.

In the third quarter, MINSK managed to increase the advantage by more than 40 points. Zach Smith and Vadzim Tratsiak made repeated hits from an average distance. Tratsiak also scored an accurate “three-pointer”, and in Dmitry Koltunov's team, Mikhail Golubko scored an accurate hit from behind the arc. The score before the final quarter was 36:79.

In the final ten minutes of the meeting, Rostislav Vergun's wards continued to press and increased the difference in the score in their favor to 60 points. Cooperating harmoniously both in defense and in attack, MINSK finished the match with a victory with a score of 101:41.

The head coach of MINSK (youth) Dmitry Koltunov: “This game showed a lot. For the guys, I think such games are useful. We will draw certain conclusions, because there is a lot of work and there is something to strive for.”

MINSK (youth) player Kirill Shishlovsky: “We relaxed after the second quarter. There were good moments in the attack. We didn't manage to play a little defensively, physically we were weaker than the opponent.”
