Our opponent in the first game of the season is PARMA–PARI

Tomorrow, October 4, at 8:00 PM, the first home court game of the VTB United League 2022/23 regular season will take place at the Falcon Club Arena for the MINSK men's team. The opponent in the opening game is the Perm Region team PARMA—PARI.

Perm Basketball Club was founded in 2012 with the participation of former Ural-Great players. In its debut season, PARMA had the highest attendance of the Major League at home matches (an average of 1400 spectators). In the 2013/2014 season in the Super League of the Russian Championship among men's teams, she finished in 11th place. In 2014, PARMA won the Open Cup of Udmurtia.

A landmark year in the history of the team was 2016, when the Perm team defeated Zenit (St. Petersburg) in the final of the Russian Cup and became the owner of the Russian Basketball Cup, the team repeated its triumph in 2019. On May 7, 2016, PARMA finished the season by winning the bronze medals of the Super League. In the 2015/16 season, the team also won the bronze medals of the Russian Super League Championship among the teams of the First Division.

In the next playing season, the team will make its debut in the VTB United League, and a year later, the permanent coach of the team Vyacheslav Shushakov will become an assistant to the Latvian specialist Nicolajs Mazurs. Subsequently, Vyacheslav will return to the post of head coach (2019, 2022). From 2019 to 2022, the coaching bridge of the team was headed by Lithuanian specialist Kazys Maksvytis.

The team finished last season in the VTB United League in the top five of the championship, and in June 2022 the club announced the appointment of Evgeniy Pashutin as head coach. The Russian specialist and the Perm club signed an agreement for three years under the 2+1 scheme.

Evgeniy Pashutin – European champion among youth teams (2005), VTB United League Champion (2010), Russian Cup Winner (2010), European Cup Winner (2011, 2013), Member of the VTB United League Hall of Fame (2019), Super League Champion (2022). The coach has experience works in the clubs CSKA, UNICS, Lokomotiv-Kuban, Kantu, Avtodor. Under his leadership, CSKA won the championship and the Cup of Russia. From 2010 to 2012, he coached Kazan UNICS, with whom he won the European Cup. From 2013 to 2015, in parallel with his work in club basketball, he headed the main Russian national team. With UNICS in the 2015/16 season, he won silver medals of the VTB United League. Evgeniy Pashutin spent the first half of the 2018/19 season as the head coach of the Italian Cantu, after which he returned to Russia and headed Avtodor. In 2019, he returned to the Kuban "Lokomotiv" and successfully led the team until 2021. In 2022, the Russian specialist headed Uralmash from Yekaterinburg and did not suffer a single defeat with the team in 23 consecutive matches, becoming the champion of the Super League-1.

After the VTB United League playoffs of the 2022/23 season, forwards Alexander Razumov and Valery Likhodey, guards Nikolai Zhmako, Makar Konovalov, Evgeny Voronov and center Artem Zabelin left the team's location.

A number of experienced players have joined the Perm team: in the summer months, the club signed agreements with American defenders Justin Roberson and Bryon Allen, Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae, American center Joel James and Senegalese center Dime Malik.

In June, a promising young forward Danila Pokhodyaev joined PARMA-PARI, and in September the club announced the conclusion of a contract until the end of November 2022 with Russian forward Pavel Antipov.
