For the first time we meet Uralmash at home

On November 7, a VTB United League match between our men's team and Uralmash will take place in Minsk for the first time. Read more in the preview. 

History and achievements

Uralmash Basketball Club was established 63 years ago. The men's team became a 20-time champion of the RSFSR, a 3-time winner of the Spartakiads of the Peoples of the RSFSR. In 1984, the team was disbanded, and only resumed its existence in 2015. After Uralmash won bronze in the Sverdlovsk Region Amateur Basketball Championship in the 2015/16 season, it was decided to apply for participation in the third division of the Super League.

In subsequent seasons, the team played in the Super League-2 and Super League-1.

2023 was a historic year for the team. Having become Super League champions twice in the last two seasons, Ekaterinburg residents have applied to participate in the VTB United League.  

Head Coach

The head coach of the Ural team is already familiar to fans of the VTB United League. Montenegrin and Russian coach Milos Pavicevic started his career in 2006 in Serbia and coached the reserve teams of Crvena Zvezda.

Since 2011, Pavichevic has worked in Russia as part of the coaching staffs of basketball clubs of the men's Super League and women's Premier League, as an assistant coach at the Georgian Vita. After Milos headed the coaching staffs of the Spartak Primorye, Kupol-Rodniki, and the DUBL UNICS teams. In 2022, Pavichevich headed the coaching staff of our rival in the VTB United League – Avtodor. In March 2023, he was appointed the head coach of Uralmash, and under his leadership the Yekaterinburg club became the champion of the Super League. 

Season 2023/24 

The newcomers of the League quite confidently and loudly declared themselves at the start of the season, beating Zenit in the first match with a score of 75:70. This was followed by unpredictable fights in which Uralmash lost to Runa (78:85), Avtodor (77:87), UNICS (67:94) and CSKA (73:86), but Ekaterinburg won over the silver medalists of last season – Lokomotiv Kuban (84:78), as well as over PARMA (78:74) and Pari Nizhny Novgorod (91:77). Now Milos Pavicevic's team is on the 7th line of the standings. 

The main star of the team from Ekaterinburg is center Ellis Octavius. He repeatedly got into the symbolic five rounds of the VTB League, the average statistics of Ellis in 5 games: 19.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 blocks in 28.15 minutes on the floor. 

Forward of MINSK Kanstantsin Pasko: “We are returning home from the away series. We haven't met with Uralmash yet – it's a newcomer in the League. They had a good start to the season. We are getting ready for the upcoming game. We need to spend all 40 minutes on the floor with full dedication. We are very happy to return to the home court, we want to please the fans with a bright and interesting game.
